Those Who've Helped Us

We've created a list of resources that have helped us on our own healing journey. These are just a few of the many out there. Please use these resources as a way to help build practical tools and strategies. We hope that through this journey you learn to love yourself in a society that tells you otherwise.

Some things that have helped me . . .

Practice gratitude. When I first was told to start writing down the things I am grateful for every morning, I really had no idea what I was doing. I sort of did it to just simply do it – going through the motions. But it wasn’t until I learned that it is the simple things that truly make us grateful. A slow cup of coffee in the morning, a walk on the beach, or a home-cooked meal. Don’t get me wrong, of course, be grateful for your health, family, and friends but what will shift your mindset are those little moments that happen each day.

I thank New York Times 2x best-selling author and top motivational speaker, Rachel Hollis for helping me learn these skills. Her Start Today Journal allows me to write tactical goals every morning that help me hold myself accountable. Without her practice, I am not sure I would have learned these skills to reimagine my best version of myself. She has played a vital role in my journey of understanding courage and how to reframe my mindset.

Purpose

Our Experience

Create a daily mantra. Mantras can help stabilize you and shift your energy. When you’re caught up in a negative spiral, use this designated mantra as a way to bring yourself back to a calm state of mind. The mantra can be as simple as you want it to be and will work as a mini-meditation. Try it out and see how it goes!

Book: The 5 Second Rule

Power of 5

When I was first introduced to The Five-Second Rule, I had no idea how big of an impact this tool would have on my life. It's just 5 seconds you could convince yourself. But for me, I've been able to use this tool to consistently meet my goals, routines, and intentions. I've learned to speak up for myself or share a thought when I otherwise wouldn't have. Or to get out of bed in the morning when I made a promise to myself I'd wake up earlier. Or to change my reaction to something that triggers me. I promise if you fully believe in the power of 5 seconds, it will help make a difference in your life. Use it to your advantage to shift or reframe your mindset from a negative thought spiral. To find out more I encourage you to read her book The Five-Second Rule or check out her Five Second Journal.

Meet Mel Robbins, Author of The 5 Second Rule and successful motivational speaker. Mel teaches the power of 5 seconds and how to use her tools to change your life. LITERALLY. Her story is empowering and has been crucial in our way of thinking.
